It was exactly 10 years ago that a long-haired, relatively unknown 17-year-old scored the first of his many goals for Barcelona.
On May 1, 2005, Lionel Messi took the pitch as the Catalan club hosted Albacete Balompie in a La Liga fixture. As the match inched towards its final moments, Ronaldinho sent teenage Messi through on goal with a phenomenal chip, and the Argentine phenom required only one touch to notch his first-ever goal as a professional.
At the time, nobody could have guessed that Messi would go on to score a ridiculous 403 goals for Barcelona and become the top scorer in club history.
