Barcelona's president: 'We are very angry about the Carlo Ancelotti situation'
Barcelona believe rumours suggesting Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is being lined up as a replacement for Luis Enrique come with a sinister intent.
Team president Josep Maria Bartomeu responded angrily to the speculation, implying that such rumours are created to take Barcelona's focus away from capturing the treble.
"We are very angry about the Carlo Ancelotti situation," he said. "It's completely false and a lie.
"These things lead us to believe that they are being said to destabilise Barcelona in the sporting sense."
Following their La Liga triumph, Barca have a chance to capture another two titles if they can record victories in the Copa del Rey and Champions League finals.
Rumours connecting Ancelotti to Barca were generated by Spanish publication El Pais after the Italian manager's future at Real Madrid was put in doubt following a season without silverware.
Enrique's future was in peril following a training ground bust-up with Lionel Messi, but he has since regained the approval of the club's board after guiding them to a strong finish to the season.
"(Enrique) has a contract and he will continue. He has done a great job. Will the contract be extended? We'll talk about that in the future.
"I'd be delighted if Luis Enrique stays here for many years, but there are elections on the horizon."
