Martin Odegaard in Real Madrid's squad for season finale vs. Getafe
While Saturday could mark the end of an era for manager Carlo Ancelotti, it could also mark the beginning of an epoch at the Santiago Bernabeu, as 16-year-old Martin Odegaard was included in Real Madrid's squad for their season finale versus Getafe CF.
Odegaard, who arrived at Real Madrid in January, was first called up by Ancelotti for his new club's 3-0 win against UD Almeria at the end of April. However, he failed to take the pitch and watched the match from the confines of the bench.
Should he feature on Saturday, he would become the youngest debutant in Real Madrid's history, an honour currently held by midfielder Alberto Rivera, who scored in his first and only outing for the club at age 17.
Here is Real Madrid's squad for Saturday's fixture:
Goalkeepers: Casillas, Keylor Navas, Pacheco
Defenders: Varane, Pepe, Marcelo, Carvajal, Arbeloa, Nacho
Midfielders: Kroos, James, Bale, Lucas Silva, Isco, Illarra, Odegaard
Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo, Chicharito, Jese
