Espanyol signs Burgui on season-long loan from Real Madrid
One of Spanish football's most promising playmakers is heading to the Estadi Cornella-El Prat.
RCD Espanyol announced Friday that Burgui, 21, will join the club on a season-long loan from Real Madrid with the option to purchase at the end of the campaign. The deal follows the same formula as the one that the two clubs struck last year involving Lucas Vazquez.
Burgui took to Instagram to express his happiness at joining Espanyol, writing: "Very content and happy for making this beautiful dream a reality, many thanks to everyone for the congratulations, I'll give my soul for Espanyol! Let's go Espanyol!!!"
The youngster made 11 appearances last season for Real Madrid's B side, Real Madrid Castilla, and was one of only two players on the team to attempt more than 100 dribbles during the 2013-14 Segunda Division.
103 - Burgui was the only Castilla player to attempt more than 100 dribbles in the Segunda 13/14, alongside Lucas Vázquez (268). Factory.
