Real Madrid tops Forbes' 50 Most Valuable Teams list for 2015
Real Madrid reigns supreme once again, topping Forbes' 50 most valuable sports teams list of 2015 for a third consecutive year.
Madrid, valued at $3.26 billion, beat out the Dallas Cowboys (NFL) and the New York Yankees (MLB) by roughly $6 million. It's a much closer margin than last year, when Madrid was valued at $3.44 billion.
Barcelona ($3.16 billion) and Manchester United ($3.1 billion) remain in the top 10 but dropped from their second and third spots from 2014 to the fourth and fifth spots, respectively, this year.
The 2015 list also features German outfit Bayern Munich (11th, $2.35 billion) and English Premier League trio Manchester City (30th, $1.39 billion), Chelsea (31st, $1.37 billion), and Arsenal (36th, $1.31 billion).
Real Madrid also recorded $746 million in revenue last year, of which $277 million came from broadcast revenue, the highest figure across all sports.
The average value across all 50 teams is $1.75 billion, up 31 percent from 2014.
