Barcelona's Jordi Alba set to miss Super Cup games because of hamstring injury
Barcelona will be without Jordi Alba for the upcoming European and Spanish Super Cup matches after sustaining a hamstring injury during a match against AS Roma.
The defending La Liga champions confirmed Alba will be out of action for 15 days because of the ailment in his right leg, which forced him to leave the second half of Barcelona's 3-0 win over the Italian squad to capture the Joan Gamper Trophy.
Alba will miss Barca's clash with Sevilla in the European Super Cup in Tbilisi, Georgia on Tuesday, and then the team's two-legged affair with Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish Super Cup on Aug. 14 and 17.
Adriano is expected to assume the duties at left-back, as Alba attempts to recover in time for Barcelona's La Liga opener against Bilbao on Aug. 23.
