Santos, who has made two Liga Portugal appearances this season, spoke after putting pen to paper on his new deal, saying he feels "happy and honoured" to be featuring for Valencia.
"Playing in the Champions League and La Liga are big challenges for me, and I hope to repay the confidence that Valencia CF have shown in me," Santos said.
Following a two-year absence, Valencia confirmed its return to the group stage of the Champions League on Tuesday, falling 2-1 to AS Monaco in the second leg of the play-offs but ultimately advancing 4-3 on aggregate.
