Report: Rafinha Alcantara in talks with Barcelona for contract extension

Barcelona youngster Rafinha Alcantara is reportedly in talks to sign a contract extension with the Spanish club to keep him at the Nou Camp past next June, when his current deal expires.

Rafinha's father and agent, Mazinho Alcantara, told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser, according to ESPN FC, that he and the player are "already negotiating (with the club)," adding, "there should not be any problems for Rafinha to continue."

Rafinha, 22, joined the Barcelona first team in May 2014, after coming up through the ranks of the club's youth system. He is the younger brother of Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara. While Thiago represents Spain on the international level, Rafinha has opted to play for his native Brazil.

Rafinha started for the Blaugrana in the team's season opener and featured as a substitute against Malaga last weekend.
