Gareth Bale is facing a stint on the sidelines following confirmation that he suffered a calf injury during Real Madrid's Champions League triumph over Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Spanish club confirmed the injury Thursday, saying Bale has been diagnosed with a soleus muscle injury in his left leg and that his condition will continue to be evaluated.
Spanish Media outlet AS suggests the Welsh international could miss up to two weeks, meaning Real Madrid could be without Bale for matches against Granada, Athletic Bilbao, Malaga and its Champions League fixture against Malmo.
His loss was coupled with news that Real defender Sergio Ramos will also miss time after suffering a dislocated shoulder during the same fixture, with reports suggesting he will return in under 10 days.
