Not Ronaldo's day: Real Madrid plays out unbelievable scoreless draw against Malaga
Saturday's fixture between Real Madrid and Malaga featured two La Liga clubs who have allowed the fewest goals so far this season, as the former had conceded only once while the latter had conceded three times.
Not surprisingly, in a game that can be summed up by the yellow card Cristiano Ronaldo received for kicking and elbowing the post in frustration, the two clubs played out a scoreless draw at the Santiago Bernabeu, effectively bringing an end to one of Real Madrid's most impressive runs at home.

Simply put, Real Madrid really should have scored. Los Blancos had 69 percent of possession and tallied a total of 31 shots - nine of which were on target. Yet, despite launching cross after cross into the box, the ball could never find its way past 'keeper and superhero Idriss Carlos Kameni ...

... and when it did, in the 76th minute, Weligton was there to make a jaw-dropping clearance in the nick of time. Replays struggled to determine whether the ball did or didn't cross the goal line.
It was a particularly frustrating contest for Ronaldo, who is two goals away from overtaking Raul to become Real Madrid's all-time top scorer, and who accounted for 14 of his side's shots - more than Malaga's entire squad assembled - although not a single one was on target.
He even failed to convert a 93rd-minute header from inside Malaga's six-yard box, somehow sending it wide of goal.
If all that doesn't sound bad enough, Malaga played the last quarter-hour of the clash with only 10 men, the result of a red card that was issued to Nordin Amrabat after he elbowed Marcelo in the face.
