Ramos suffered a dislocated left shoulder last month, and the initial diagnosis called for four weeks of rest.
Instead, he returned in half that time, and played the full 90 minutes of the weekend's 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid, requiring an injection to kill the pain, according to Spanish newspaper AS.
Despite the injury, Spain coach Vicente del Bosque called up the Real Madrid captain for his country's final two qualifiers on Oct. 9 and Oct. 12.
“I’m here for a check-up and so they can see me, but I’m upset and in pain," Ramos said, according to the AS report. "I came to see if I’d be able to take part or not, but I’m not in great shape."
