Cristiano Ronaldo is, as the kids might say, fire. (We apologize for the disappointing lack of an emoji.)

The Real Madrid megastar, who already has 12 goals on the campaign, has picked up right where he left off last year, scoring with ease.

Just ask Espanyol, who were helpless earlier this season as the Portuguese attacker exploded for five goals. It's fitting, then, that Nike has opted for a volcano-inspired design for Ronaldo's newest set of boots, which are set to be released later this week.

The CR7 Chapter 1: Savage Beauty kicks, the first in a seven series installment, pay tribute to Ronaldo's homeland of Madeira, a volcanic Portuguese island.

Nike released the following statement, outlining the thought process behind the fiery new cleats.

The lava-inspired print on Savage Beauty is one of the most intricate Nike has ever produced on a pair of boots. A collaboration between Nike's World Headquarters and its expert artisans in Montebelluna, Italy, the vibrant, six-colour graphic flows from toe to heel to accentuate Ronaldo's speed. Supplementary colour on the medial side adds extra flash while a new, smaller CR7 logo appears on the lateral side of the heel and an iridescent white Swoosh complements the design.

"Madeira will always be close to my heart," Ronaldo said, via the statement. "I'm so happy to represent my island all over the world. It's a fantastic feeling."
