Real Sociedad names Eusebio Sacristan replacement for ousted Moyes
David Moyes' vacated seat on the Real Sociedad bench was still warm when the club announced the hiring of a replacement for the Scottish tactician.
Just hours after announcing the firing of Moyes, the Basque side revealed that former Barcelona B manager Eusebio Sacristan has been appointed to the managerial role.
The Spaniard, 51, has been out of work since the Blaugrana reserve club cut ties with him in February of this year. A former coach of Celta Vigo when the club was in the second tier of Spanish, Eusebio will now get his first opportunity to manage in the Primera Division.
"I am proud and honoured to coach this club," he said upon his appointment. "It fills me with enthusiasm, the challenge of coming here to get to live beautiful moments.
"[The team] have all the conditions to grow and improve. Now [we] have to work and get that level of demand and commitment to change the dynamic and move forward."
