Fluminense's Roberto Goncalves joins Barcelona on loan until end of season
Back in 2011, when he was only 15 years old and had yet to sign his first professional contract, Roberto Goncalves said he wanted to be better than Neymar, who was then defining himself as the future of Brazilian football at Santos.
Football works in mysterious ways.
After passing a medical on Monday, Goncalves, 20, joined Barcelona on loan from Fluminense until the end of the season.

Unfortunately, Goncalves will not be taking the pitch alongside Neymar, as he is contracted to Gerard Lopez's Barca B team.
Comparisons between Goncalves and Neymar have been inevitable, as the two are both versatile and capable of featuring anywhere within a three-man front line. They also, as evidenced from the above photo, share a smile that stretches from ear to ear.
Goncalves, however, believes there is one department where he beats his doppelganger, saying four years ago: "Everyone says we are similar. The girls always say that to me, but I'm better looking."
