Real Madrid and Brazil legend Roberto Carlos has revealed he's in talks with the Spanish giant about a role within the backroom staff, where he would be reunited with former teammate Zinedine Zidane.
Roberto Carlos is currently player-manager of Indian Super League outfit Delhi Dynamos, but still has a strong affiliation with Los Blancos after more than 500 appearances for them between 1996 and 2007.
"I had a meeting with Real Madrid about my future with the club," he admitted. "Soon I will know how I can collaborate with Zidane’s Madrid."
The former left-back believes president Florentino Perez made a good move in ousting Rafa Benitez earlier this month, and also a fine appointment in handing Zidane his first major managerial role.
"Zidane is a leader in the dressing room. His personality is going to make him very successful," he said. "A coach has to befriend his players and Benitez struggled to form a bond with them."
Roberto Carlos wouldn't just bring his expertise to the Santiago Bernabeu, as he's backed himself to bring a rather extravagant welcome gift.
"I can take (Neymar) to Real Madrid. He's very young. I am sure next year he will finish even higher in the Ballon d'Or," he said.
Zidane will look to make it two straight wins to begin his life as a Real Madrid gaffer when Sporting Gijon visits on Sunday.
