The MSN trident is 100 goals strong for a second season running.

Lionel Messi scored twice and Luis Suarez added the last goal in Barcelona's 4-0 win over Eibar on Sunday. They pulled their weight without the suspended Neymar, bringing their total tally into the triple digits after scoring 122 goals together last season.

The win maintains Barcelona's eight-point lead atop the La Liga table, with Atletico Madrid beating Valencia on Sunday evening to keep the pace.

It was the 11th consecutive league victory for the Catalans, who also extended their record unbeaten streak to 36 matches in all competitions.

Munir El Haddadi started in place of Neymar, and made an instant impact. He tapped in the opening goal of the contest after just eight minutes, with Suarez sending in a simple pass from the goal line. Messi doubled the advantage when he went on a solo run that ended with a well-placed shot into the far bottom corner.

The little Argentine executed a Panenka in the 76th minute, and Suarez embarrassed the Eibar defence minutes later to complete the rout.

By virtue of the two-goal performance, Messi reached yet another personal milestone. He became the first player to score 20 goals or more in eight different La Liga seasons.
