The three-time Chile international made his first professional strides at hometown club Colo-Colo, before moving on to Sporting CP in 2012 and then Valladolid last summer. His temporary deal in Major League Soccer is subject to receipt of his International Transfer Certificate and P-1 Visa.
"We are excited to bring Rubio to the club," Sporting KC Manager Peter Vermes said. "We have a lot of games coming up in a short amount of time so it will be important to get him integrated into our team and see how he performs on the field."
Born in Santiago, Chile, Rubio played for @Sporting_CP from 2011-15, scoring 22 goals in 52 games for the club’s reserve team Sporting B.

It is hoped the 22-year-old will help compensate for the significant loss of Krisztian Nemeth, who left for Qatari outfit Al-Gharafa in January, and also offer competition to Dom Dwyer up front.
Sporting KC began the latest MLS campaign in fine fashion on Sunday, stealing an impressive 1-0 win at the Seattle Sounders, and next faces a visit from the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday.
