Haney tries to justify women's golf remarks, misspells Lee6's name

Hank Haney attempted to defend the ignorant remarks he made earlier this week as Jeongeun Lee6 was on her way to claiming the U.S. Women's Open title Sunday.

The former swing coach, who was suspended from his radio show after making disparaging comments about Korean golfers and the LPGA Tour, chimed in on Twitter shortly before Lee6 captured her first LPGA victory.

A couple of hours later, Haney attempted to congratulate Lee6 but repeatedly misspelled her name before correcting himself.

Haney, whose most prominent former client is Tiger Woods, originally predicted a Korean would win the tournament. He said he couldn't name six players on the LPGA Tour then added: "Maybe I could. Well, I'd go with Lee. If I didn't have to name a first name, I'd get a bunch of them right."

Woods said Haney "got what he deserved" in regard to the suspension by SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio.

Lee6 adopted the numeral to distinguish herself from the other Jeongeun Lees on the LPGA of Korea Tour.
