Wie returned sooner than expected from the wrist injury for last week's Women's PGA Championship and was seen icing her wrist during play. She shot 84-82 to miss the cut by 17 shots. The 29-year-old broke into tears after her first round and questioned her future in the sport.
She underwent surgery on her wrist in October and attempted to come back in mid-April.
Wie's professional golf career began before her 16th birthday. The five-time LPGA Tour winner claimed the 2014 U.S. Women's Open but has collected only a single victory since.
