Jenny Shin topped the leaderboard after the first round of the KPMG Women's Championship in Harrison, N.Y., shooting a 7-under 66 over a bogey-free 18 holes.
Brooke Henderson had a strong day as well, draining five birdies and an eagle while dropping just one bogey. She ended one shot back with a 6-under 67, giving her sole possession of second.
Karrie Webb rounded out the top three, finishing 5-under 68 despite leading for most of the day.
Brittany Lincicome, Cristie Kerr and Stacy Lewis are all among the 15-player deadlock idling in the eighth position, four shots off the pace.
