On Tuesday morning, after getting a ball caught in the webbing of his famously dilapidated glove the evening prior at Tropicana Field, Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Troy Tulowitzki was confident his battered old mitt could last another five years, or so, according to John Lott of Blue Jays Nation.

Tulowitzki's glove barely lasted another five hours, though.

During the first inning of Tuesday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays, the 31-year-old was forced to swap old reliable for a less battered mitt after diving in vain for a Logan Forsythe grounder.

Miraculously, though, the glove was revived following some "surgery" in the Blue Jays' clubhouse, according to Sportsnet's Barry Davis, who deemed it ready to go. Certain people within the organization may not be so thrilled about this development.

"It's the worst glove I’ve ever seen," clubhouse manager Kevin Malloy told Sportsnet's Kristina Rutherford in October.
