The Cubs are more concerned about Schwarber's knee than his ankle, following Thursday night's collision that led to him being carted off, ESPN's Buster Olney reports.
Analysis:
There won't be an update on the results of his MRI until late Friday, according to ESPN Chicago's Jesse Rogers, but Olney's report certainly lines up with what the injury looked like in real time, and contradicts reports that surfaced Thursday night about it being simply an ankle sprain, and not a knee issue. If it is a serious knee injury, Schwarber's season could be over, so while it is premature to drop him, his owners would be wise to try to add a catcher off the waiver wire or via a trade, as it seems likely that Schwarber is at the very least headed for a DL stint.
