College baseball game ends in NFL-like score
Sometimes, defense is optional.
But for the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights and Coppin State Eagles baseball teams, it wasn't even so much as a thought as they combined to score a ridiculous 59 runs Thursday as Fairleigh Dickinson downed CSU 35-24.
The box score looks nothing like a normal baseball game:

The game itself lasted an astounding five hours and five minutes but yet somehow didn't break the record for total runs in a college baseball game, with that record belonging to a 1968 contest between Denver and Air Force that featured 62 runs.

Neither starting pitcher will want to check his ERA for a while.
