Report: MLB lifts ban on personalized bat decals
Bryce Harper may have just helped overturn a league ruling.
Just days after Harper's bats sported "100" emoji stickers, Major League Baseball reportedly lifted its ban on personalized bat decals Wednesday, a source told Paul Lukas of UniWatch.com and ESPN.
It's a quick end for the ban, which was initially reported to have been put in place during spring training. Lukas had previously noted the league would only allow a standardized design featuring team colors and the player's uniform number.
Harper, who's been vocal about his desire to make baseball fun again, openly flouted the supposed ban by using the decals Monday as he chased his 100th career home run. Though the rule would have still been in place at the time, he didn't receive any league discipline for the sticker, according to Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post.
Of course, Harper may not be the only player who'll be happy to hear this news.
