Pirates, broadcasters throw it back to 1979 in style
The Pittsburgh Pirates have embraced every aspect of this season's 1979 throwback days.
First, the team debuted sparkling new gold uniforms - complete with pillbox caps - on Sunday. The jerseys, which will be worn for every Sunday home game of 2016, pay homage to those worn by the 1979 World Series champion Pirates.

If that wasn't enough, the team's broadcasters got in on the fun and opened Sunday's telecast with funky 1970s-style graphics.

Announcers Joe Block and Bob Walk showed off some slick mustard sport jackets that echoed television attire from the 1970s. Once the game started, they took the theme one step further.

That 'stache fits Walk perfectly, as evidenced by his facial hair choices back in the day.
