Morton will undergo season-ending surgery on his injured hamstring, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Analysis:

The veteran right-hander was placed on the disabled list Sunday with what was ruled as a left hamstring strain, but an MRI performed a day later revealed a tear in the hamstring, according to Stephen Gross of The Morning Call. Morton is scheduled to undergo the season-ending surgery Monday, meaning that two of the Phillies' initial pieces of the rotation are gone for the year. Adam Morgan is expected to take Morton's spot in the rotation beginning Friday.
