Watch: Ortiz delivers on promise to hit HR for sick child
David Ortiz touched more than all the bases when he homered Friday. He touched a whole lot of hearts, too.
Before that game against the New York Yankees, Ortiz and former teammate Kevin Millar recorded a video message to Maverick, a young Boston Red Sox fan who suffers from a heart defect.

"We love you," Big Papi told Maverick while pointing into the camera. "Always stay positive ... and I'm going to hit a homer for you tonight, remember that."

Ortiz didn't forget about that promise to the youngster, belting the game-winning homer in the eighth inning, and then dedicated his blast to Maverick on Saturday.
