Dodger Dogs now available at L.A. convenience stores
Folks in the Los Angeles area don't have to hop down to Chavez Ravine to get their hands on a Dodger Dog anymore.
The Dodgers announced Tuesday that their iconic 10-inch hot dogs - a staple at the ballpark since 1962 and the team's most popular concession item - are now available at more than 500 ampm locations throughout the Los Angeles area, marking the first time they've ever been sold outside Dodger Stadium.
"We are genuinely looking forward to offering our fans an authentic Dodger Experience outside of Dodger Stadium," Michael Young, the team's senior vice president of corporate partnerships, said in a statement. "Ampm will be the only place outside of Dodger Stadium that someone can purchase a freshly cooked Dodger Dog prepared just as they would at one of our games."
Every year, the club sells more than 1.5 million of their branded hot dogs at Dodger Stadium - an average of 18,518 per game - and the Dodger Dog received a wholehearted endorsement from Vin Scully, the team's legendary broadcaster, back in 2014.
"The ones they have here are as good as I've ever tasted," Scully told Frank Shyong of the Los Angeles Times. "Without a doubt."
