Watch: Maverick Schutte throws 1st pitch to Ortiz
Maverick Schutte might have a future on the mound.
The 6-year-old, who suffers from a heart condition, got to meet his idol, David Ortiz - who dedicated a homer to him earlier this season - on Wednesday. But that wasn't all: Maverick got to throw out the ceremonial first pitch to the Boston Red Sox legend at Fenway Park on Wednesday. He showed good form with his sweet windmill windup.
After getting the first pitch honors, Maverick got to watch the Red Sox face the Oakland Athletics in the first row, on the lap of former Red Sox star Kevin Millar, who arranged the whole trip and flew the family to Boston on his private jet. And if none of that was enough, he got a foul ball.
