David Ortiz passed two Hall of Famers on the home-run list, hit a game-tying triple in the ninth inning, and a walk-off double - his 600th career two-bagger - in the 11th inning against the Houston Astros on Saturday.

And the retiring Boston Red Sox designated hitter wasn't talking to anybody about it.

"Just say I'm a bad (expletive)," Ortiz yelled to reporters as he left the Red Sox clubhouse. "I'm out."

Apparently Ortiz had a much more important place to be Saturday night, as he was leaving to attend his daughter's birthday party.

His heroics did not leave Red Sox manager John Farrell completely speechless during his postgame media session. Having coached or managed Ortiz since 2007, save for his brief two-year stint in Toronto, Farrell's seen the 40-year-old do many amazing things in a Red Sox uniform. And still, despite knowing what makes the future Hall of Famer tick, Ortiz's 2016 performance to date - which is quickly becoming one of the greatest final seasons in baseball history - is leaving the 53-year-old skipper shaking his head.

"We travel to all of these ballparks and he's presented gifts, but our fans are getting the greatest gift of all, and that is seeing what David is doing game in and game out," Farrell said.

"What David is doing, it really is incredible to watch daily."
