Three years ago, Matt Harvey was an All-Star. This season, he could be benched.
Following his All-Star season in 2013, Harvey missed the following year after undergoing Tommy John surgery. In his 2015 return he was solid, pitching to a 2.71 ERA, while striking out 8.9 hitters per nine innings.
But in 2016 he's been anything but special, and his outing Thursday cemented that as he gave up nine runs in 2 2/3 innings - the worst start of his career.
Needless to say, Harvey's nickname - "The Dark Knight" - is really playing against him these days:

Harvey is 3-6 with a 5.77 ERA and 43 strikeouts over 48 1/3 innings on the season.
