Angels' Yunel Escobar: Sitting Monday

Escobar is out of the lineup Monday against the Tigers.

Analysis:

Escobar left Sunday's matchup against the Astros due to what was later described as a bruised left wrist. He was given a "day-to-day" diagnosis, but the Angels will take a cautious approach here and rest the third baseman for the evening contest. Reserve infielder Gregorio Petit will man the hot corner Monday night.
