The Tampa Bay Rays have acquired outfielder Eury Perez from the Houston Astros for cash considerations.
Perez was assigned to Triple-A Durham, where he's expected to provide additional depth to the Rays organization.
The 26-year-old Dominican last appeared in the big leagues with the Atlanta Braves in 2015, getting into 47 games and hitting .269/.331/.303 with four doubles and five RBIs across 133 plate appearances.
Over the course of four major-league seasons split between the Braves, Washington Nationals, and New York Yankees, Perez owns a .254/.307/.282 slash line.
