Teheran dazzles as Braves complete sweep of Mets
The Atlanta Braves may be baseball's worst team, but the New York Mets made them look like world-beaters this weekend.
Julio Teheran completed the Braves' sweep in Queens with a complete-game one-hit shutout to beat the Mets 6-0 in a game that saw the home side serenaded with boos from a frustrated crowd.

The sweep was just the Braves' fourth series win of the season, and it was easily their most dominant three-game stretch of the year, as they outscored the Mets 15-4 over the three games. Teheran was simply untouchable, retiring 27 of 28 Mets hitters, including each of the last 21 he faced. Only a Michael Conforto third-inning single separated the 25-year-old from a perfect game.
Teheran's gem was also the first complete-game one-hit shutout by a Braves pitcher since Jair Jurrjens shut down Baltimore on July 1, 2011.
Combined with the Miami Marlins' 3-0 win over Colorado, the Mets' loss drops them out of second place in the NL East for the first time in a month, as well as the first NL wild-card spot. A Los Angeles Dodgers win on Sunday would drop the free-falling Mets - who've now lost four of their last 10 games - out of a playoff spot entirely.
