Watch: Brewers skip Lucroy after batting out of order
MLB.com
Jonathan Lucroy was called out without getting an at-bat.
In the first inning between the Milwaukee Brewers and Washington Nationals, Dusty Baker called Craig Counsell on a rather embarrassing play before the Nats even stepped up to the dish.
Milwaukee sent Jonathan Villar, Scooter Gennett and Ryan Braun to the plate. After Braun singled off Max Scherzer, Baker walked out of the dugout and presented the umpires the lineup card, which shows Lucroy should've batted third, and Braun fourth.
Incidentally, Braun was called out in Lucroy's spot, and the Brewers were charged with batting out of order. Braun led off to start the second inning and grounded out to third base.
