Report: Melancon generating interest from Indians, Giants

Mark Melancon is slowly building himself up a fan club.
After reports surfaced Friday that the Washington Nationals are interested in the Pittsburgh Pirates' closer, the Cleveland Indians and San Francisco Giants are also said to be gauging a possible deal for the reliever, according to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal.
Though, if any of the three clubs are serious about acquiring Melancon, Rosenthal adds the Pirates are said to be looking for an MLB-ready reliever in return.
Melancon has been impressive closing out contests this season for the Pirates, crafting a 1.51 ERA and 0.96 WHIP while converting 30 out of his 33 save opportunities. Though, with his $9.65-million deal expiring at the end of the season, teams may be unwilling to part with such a big ask for the 31-year-old.
