Indians acquire Guyer from Rays for prospects

The Cleveland Indians have acquired outfielder Brandon Guyer from the Tampa Bay Rays for minor-leaguers Nathan Lukes and pitcher Jhonleider Salinas.
Guyer will likely serve as an additional option off the bench and against left-handers for manager Terry Francona. He's a potent bat against left-handed pitching, owning a .283/.384/.464 line against southpaws compared to a .230/.300/.336 line against right-handers.
The 30-year-old owns a .241/.347/.406 line with the Rays in a part-time role this season. He also has a proclivity for getting hit by pitches, as his 23 HBPs this year lead the league.
Lukes was recently promoted by the Indians to High-A Lynchburg after beginning the season in Single-A Lake County. The 22-year-old owns a .299/.369/.444 line to go along with 15 stolen bases over 94 games across both levels.
Salinas owns a 2.93 ERA over 23 professional contests. The 20-year-old is pitching in the Arizona Rookie League.
