Rockies' Carlos Gonzalez: Removed with apparent ankle injury

Gonzalez left Monday's game against Texas with an apparent injury to his left ankle, MLB.com reports.

Analysis:

Gonzalez was removed before he could even take his first scheduled at-bat in the second inning. He was held out Thursday and Sunday to rest the joint after spraining it on Wednesday, but has said he will attempt to play through the pain. Gonzalez reiterated as much to reporters Monday night, but we'll have to wait for further examination. Consider him day-to-day for now.
