Reliving Prince Fielder's 10 funniest moments
With Texas Rangers slugger Prince Fielder announcing his retirement, baseball is losing some big home runs, and even funnier moments.
Throughout his career, Fielder has provided us with laughs, bloopers, and downright funny moments, simply by being himself.
Here, we take a look at the top 10 times Fielder made us smile.
The home run earthquake
Fielder is a big boy, so after he clobbered a walk-off home run in the 12th inning, his team was at home plate to greet him, and together, they unleashed the earthquake.
Fish out of water
In Game 6 of the 2013 ALCS against the Boston Red Sox, Fielder was on third, and that's when the problems started. With the Tigers up 2-1, Dustin Pedroia caught fielder too far off his bag, and when he got him in a rundown, Fielder gave us the belly flop of all belly flops.
Cheese and nachos
Fact: Fielder doesn't eat meat. You wouldn't guess it by looking at him, but that doesn't mean you should just leave your nachos out for him to eat.
Head over heels
In Game 2 of the 2015 ALDS against the Toronto Blue Jays, Fielder was so excited with the win that he tried jumping over the dugout rail. Instead, he failed miserably.
Foul ball flop
It was a routine fly ball to first base in foul territory, but nothing is ever routine to Fielder in the field. Let's just say he didn't quite get under it.
Tripping over third
It's official - third base and Fielder don't go well together.
Odor calls off grumpy Fielder
Rougned Odor knows his place, and when he's the better infielder, he'll get to every pop up - even the ones Fielder camps under.
Fielder legs out All-Star Game triple
Something that doesn't happen very often, in even the unlikeliest of circumstances, Fielder legged out a triple in the 2013 All-Star Game. There were smiles reeling across both dugouts.
David vs. Goliath
Mike Moustakas taught us a physics lesson when he tackled Fielder at first base, and actually brought him to the ground, sort of.
Tripping over first
Even the simplest play in baseball - running out a ground ball to first - is comical when it comes to Fielder. After being called out, he stumbled over the base and ate it face first in the dirt.
