Altuve's spray chart at 1,000-hit milestone is video-game caliber
Jose Altuve made 1,000 hits look easy. With a single in the ninth inning of Tuesday's game against the Cardinals, the Houston Astros' second baseman became the fastest player in team history to record the feat.
The 26-year-old's spray chart looks almost fake. He hits the ball everywhere. In Tuesday's contest, the All-Star singled three times in the 8-5 loss in front of the home crowd at Minute Maid Park.

Cesar Cedeno once owned the mark of fastest Astro to reach 1,000 hits. He did it in 889 games. Altuve made it happen in 786.
"My time in the minor leagues wasn't that easy," Altuve said, according to Angel Verdejo Jr. of the Houston Chronicle. The second baseman was once turned away from an Astros tryout camp before he was signed for $15,000 at the age of 16. "I had to work really hard every day to get to this point."
