Report: Dodgers won't give away Puig, could keep him

The Los Angeles Dodgers may not be finished with Yasiel Puig after all.
Although rumors surrounding the Cuban's possible departure from Hollywood have swirled since his demotion to Triple-A at the trade deadline, the Dodgers have reportedly changed their minds and might hold onto Puig through the Aug. 31 waiver deadline, sources told Jon Heyman of Today's Knuckleball.
"They don't seem ready to trade him," one rival executive told Heyman.
Earlier this week, Heyman reported that the Dodgers might give away the 25-year-old, perhaps even for nothing if a team claimed him on revocable trade waivers.
Puig, who has been hitting the ball well since his demotion to Triple-A Oklahoma City, sports a .396/.448/.698 slash line with four homers in 58 plate appearances - a marked improvement over his .260/.320/.386 showing in the majors.
Despite the uptick in production, it appears to be highly unlikely that the Dodgers will recall Puig this season.
