Rizzo writes letter, makes donation to young fan diagnosed with cancer
Jerry Lai / USA TODAY Sports
Anthony Rizzo continues to make as much of an impact off the field as he does on it.
After Rizzo heard about Parker Hopkins - a young boy who was recently diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, two months before his second birthday - the Chicago Cubs first baseman decided to take action.
Rizzo penned a letter to Parker describing his own personal battle with cancer, and made a $2,500 donation to help his family during a difficult time.
