Tigers' Daniel Norris: Escapes inefficient outing with no-decision Tuesday
Norris (2-2) pitched five innings, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four in Tuesday's game against the White Sox. He did not factor in the decision.
Analysis:
Working deep into games has been an issue for the left-hander throughout his short career, and Tuesday was no different as Norris needed a season-high 105 pitches to escape with a decent line intact after five shaky innings. In eight starts this year, the 23-year-old owns a respectable 3.86 ERA but an awful 1.61 WHIP through 39.2 innings. Norris' inability to command his pitches (33:14 K:BB) will continue to run up his pitch count and limit his fantasy appeal in mixed leagues. He'll get another crack at the White Sox in his next start Monday.
