Clint Hurdle joined exclusive company on Thursday, becoming just the sixth manager in Pittsburgh Pirates history to record 500 wins.
Pittsburgh defeated the Cincinnati Reds 4-1 to give the 59-year-old skipper the historic victory.
Hurdle joins Jim Leyland (851), Chuck Tanner (711), Danny Murtaugh (1,115), Frank Frisch (539), and Fred Clarke (1,422) among Pirates managers to record 500 wins.
Hurdle has been with the club since Nov. 14, 2010, when he took over after John Russell was fired.
The veteran skipper owns a 500-448 career record with the Pirates, along with another 534 wins as manager of the Colorado Rockies.
He also guided the Pirates to three consecutive postseason appearances from 2013-15.
