Mariners' first base coach is the MVP of gum tricks
MLB
Yeah, we've all seen chewing gum antics from players – sticking giant bubbles to the hats of teammates or sacrificing an entire bucket of Dubble Bubble for the sake of celebration. Seattle Mariners' first base coach Casey Candaele elevated the use of chewing gum during the fifth inning on Thursday.
With the first-place Texas Rangers in town and two Mariners on base with a one-run lead, Candaele casually leaned back and launched his gum into the air and caught it again. Hands down, the victor of any of this season's gum-related awards.
