Sanchez belts long sac fly on intentional walk pitch
Gary Sanchez is the new Chuck Norris.
The New York Yankees' star rookie continued to make the impossible look easy Saturday, going back-to-back with Jacoby Ellsbury in the sixth and nearly homering again in the eighth on an intentional walk pitch from Rays pitcher Enny Romero.
Sanchez's bold swing cashed Brett Gardner and helped the Yankees secure their seventh straight win with a 5-1 victory over the Rays.
"I knew they were going to walk me," Sanchez said through a translator, according to The Associated Pres. "At the same time, I wanted to be ready."
Using the hashtag #IamGary on Twitter, Sanchez is helping grow his legend on social media and the diamond.
Prior to Saturday's game, the 23-year-old slugger shared a video of him throwing out Corey Dickerson from his knees the night before. Hours later, he tied the major-league record for most homers in a player's first 35 games with his 13th blast of the season.
