Athletics' Sonny Gray: Throws to live hitters
Gray (forearm) threw to live hitters Saturday and said it went "great," Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Analysis:
Teammate Matt Olson stepped in against Gray and said the right-hander looked just the same as he did in spring training and that Gray's slider was particularly nasty. It sounds like Gray will lobby to pitch in a game during the season's final week, but it's not clear if the team will let him. Gray has been on the DL since early August with inflammation and a strain in his forearm.
