Indians' Danny Salazar: Prepping for postseason bullpen role
Salazar threw 30-plus pitches off a mound Wednesday, and appears on track to be available out of the bullpen in the ALDS, MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports.
Analysis:
He only threw fastballs and changeups, as those would be the two pitches Salazar would use as a reliever. Apparently it hurts his arm too much to throw curveballs, but he would likely only rely on his top two pitches as a reliever anyway. Depending on how deep the Indians go in the postseason, there's a chance Salazar could make a start at some point, but it would likely be a shortened start, the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Paul Hoynes reports.
