Braves' Matt Wisler: Struggles in final outing of 2016
Wisler (7-13) allowed five runs on nine hits, including three home runs in a loss to the Tigers on Friday. He also struck out three and walked two.
Analysis:
The right-hander tossed up three homers in the first three frames, including two to Miguel Cabrera. Wisler had been doing a much better job of keeping the ball in the park, but the three homers Friday means he finishes the year having allowed 26 bombs. His ERA will also rise to an even 5.00, which is a shame because Wisler pitched much better in his last two starts and was likely hoping to carry that momentum into the offseason.
