Cubs, Giants release NLDS rosters

Although the Chicago Cubs are favorites to win the World Series, there's no counting out the San Francisco Giants.

Hours ahead of their NLDS showdown Friday, the clubs announced their 25-man rosters.

Chicago Cubs

Two of the most notable omissions from the Cubs' NLDS roster are right-hander Jason Hammel and slugger Matt Szczur. Instead, the Cubs opted to go with Mike Montgomery out of the bullpen, although he only appeared in 17 games this season.

San Francisco Giants

After missing the NL wild-card game due to a hamstring injury, Eduardo Nunez is back. Otherwise, there aren't many surprises on the Giants' 25-man roster.
